NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAIN LAND & HOMES
Cory Coady As far back as I can remember, the outdoors were a huge part of my life. Growing up in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY, our weekends were filled with nature hikes, scouting out a new trout stream, or feeding the deer up at camp. Since relocating to western North Carolina after college, I’ve been lucky enough to make a home in the foothills of the Blue Ridge and with Fall Creek Land Company. I always have a laugh when people ask where I work because my “job” at Grandview Peaks doesn’t resemble anything I’ve called work in the past. What little stress I do encounter in my day to day literally goes out the window – the quiet of just a few minutes in the porch swing or taking a drive around the neighborhood clears my mind like nothing else. I love what I do because it combines two of my favorite things, the outdoors and people. I’ve experience little in my life more satisfying than helping someone to realize their lifelong dream of owning a mountain home. Although I haven’t lived in many different places, I can’t imagine a place with a better balance of friendly people, unique climate, and endless adventures than in western North Carolina. If you long for a connection to the natural world, for the calm of the country, then you owe it to yourself to come explore all these mountains have to offer. I hope for the chance to hear your story and to share in the experience of writing the next chapter.
Eric NelsonFor Eric, the appeal of Grandview Peaks lies in its natural, relaxed ambience. A Fall Creek consultant originally based in New York, he moved South with the company in 1999 and immediately acclimated to the local attitude of “small town friendly.” During tours, he takes care to point out the breathtaking vistas as well as the genial local welcoming spirit he has so wholeheartedly embraced. A childhood friend of Fall Creek Land Company owners Todd and Mike, Eric sees the company as a close-knit group of individuals who share a passion for this land. A bit of a history buff, Eric takes pleasure in exploring nearby small towns and cultural landmarks.
Joe GoodwinJoe began his life in Mullins, South Carolina and then married and moved to Lake Lure, North Carolina in 1979. Joe attained his real estate brokers license in 1985 and managed a Coldwell Banker office in Lake Lure. He then opened his own real estate office in 1989 until he sold his business in 1996 and became the manager of a Coldwell Banker office in Rutherfordton. In 2004, Joe teamed up with Fall Creek Land and has worked for them as a manager and salesman since. Joe has been involved in selling mountain and river real estate continually since 1985. Joe is a member of The Symphony of Rutherford County and the orchestra of the First Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC. Flying remote controlled airplanes and exploring the mountains of Western North Carolina with his wife who is a NC native, Joe now lives in Forest City and can see the mountains from his home.
Justin Coady Justin traded the harsh Adirondack climate of upstate New York for the glorious and mild change of seasons here in Western Carolina. A longtime mountain enthusiast, he paved his way through college by building majestic log homes. After graduation, he discovered the Fall Creek Land area and immediately began convincing friends and family to move here. It worked. He enjoys explaining the benefits of the close-knit communities and when he is not turning others into mountain converts, you will find him exploring the surrounding state parks and lakes.
Ken Williams
Ken and his wife, Mary, first came to North Carolina 20 years ago to visit family. They were both so amazed at the beautiful landscape, wonderful people and the inexpensive cost of living. So the couple made a big move from California in search of a simpler mountain lifestyle. The affordability of Real Estate in Western North Carolina led Ken to invest in buying old mill houses to rehab and rent. That interest led Ken to shift his career to Real Estate sales and working with land developers. Now as a member of the Fall Creek Land Company team, Ken is right at home helping other folks find and live the mountain dream. Ken loves the outdoors and enjoys showing his clients all that this area has to offer.
Sherry Henderson A North Carolina native, Sherry never saw a reason to leave the state. Her longstanding memories of mountain living inspire others to make this place their own mountain utopia. Explaining the allure of the region as part-landscape, part-community, Sherry feels a strong sense of self here and finds special joy in introducing that vision to others. “Peace, tranquility and a sense of belonging” is the local truism she shares with her clients. She has raised her children near these hills, and revels in the surrounding beauty that is part of her daily life. The mountains and mountain land for sale are an obvious part of the allure at Fall Creek Land Company properties.
